Oil from behind prop area?

1999 Johnson 115 - Drained lower unit for winter and fluid looked good, no water. I now have a leak from behind the prop, but it is darker than lower unit lube and has leaked enough to leave a spot. Do I have a bad seal? Help Marine Man!

I would bet that it's unburnt gas / oil from the exhaust port through the hub of the prop.

If you lower unit oil was clear of water, and you put clean stuff in I wouldn't worry about it.

Wipe it off, and put it away for the winter.

I agree, its just unburned oil running out the exhaust.
