Dale08
Hey there I just came acrossed your posting looking for some good info on ice fishing gear and lakes and my dad has used fly line on all his tip ups and on his rattel reels for the past 32 years. If you do it, get the lead core stuff that way it will sink with no problems. All 7 of my tip ups have it on and I would never change. Put on 3 to 4 feet of 20 pound test mono fishing line under that for a leader and you will be set. We have caught 2 northerns in the last 3 years over 18 pounds on tip ups and when the fish decide to run the you can watch the line unravel of the ice with no mess and its easy to work with also. I have had 7 guys change to that stuff last year agian and total i think i have convinced about 20 fisherman to do it after they see the benefits that it has. Any questions let me know.
