bigswede
Just got an e-mail back from Mr. Heater and they said that they will be coming out with a new buddy heater that has more BTU's than the original. It is supposed to hit store shelves the end of August/First part of Sept. I love the buddy heater quietness, but on the real cold days the greater BTU's will be nice to have... Gus
I wonder if it will be more resistant to blowing out as well?
Sturge1
Thanks for letting me know Buddy was coming out with a new design. Mine wasn't wareing his seatbelt and ended up as parts. Sturge1
The reason I ask you guys this question as opposed to the gang in Mich is you fish longer and have the heavier winters. I have been reading your comments for four years andfeel you have the leg up on everyone else in the ice belt. The Boys in the East are spoiled with good winters and trout, Whitefish and the better perch. Minn and the guys in Wisc. are my heros. Please give me some imput.Sturge
hanson
Sturge1- If you have any concern as to the amount of heat a Buddy will put out, I'd just put a Mr. Heater sunflower head on my propane tank and call it a day. More heat than you will ever need. If you must run a Heater Buddy, hook it up with a hose to a 5lb, 10lb, or 20 lb propane tank, it'll work alot better. The Heater Buddy blowing out was definitely a problem. Typically I'd bank my house in with snow and it wouldn't get very drafty at all. Coldest day I ever used the Heater Buddy was -10 on Devils Lake ND with a 20-25 mph wind. Once I banked the Otter house in to keep the drafts from blowing through it wasn't too bad but still a little too cold for what I like. The holes stayed open but I was also wearing my winter parka, warm hat and sitting with the heater between my legs. I also melted my minnow bucket that day on the heater It worked but I wish I had a sunflower heater with that day.
