Help with editing

Is there a good free editing software that works with vista? How do you add your name to the bottom corner of the pictures?

If there arnt any good free ones to use what is a good one to purchase?

I believe Picassa (free Google download) will work with Vista. Both Gim Photo and Gimp Photo are free Photoshop knock-offs. A good starter if you are willing to pay would be Photoshop Elements. You can get an older version, 4 or 5 for very cheap these days.

Paint.NET works with Vista, it's free. Paint Shop Pro is a good (not free) editor. I got version 10 for free when 11 was coming out, it was $30 with a $30 rebate. They're on version 12 now which has been out for a while, when 13 is due you might get 12 really cheap.
