Spear House Design Question

Hello, I am new to spearing and am putting the finishing touches on my 4' x 8' spear house. I have black walls and ceiling.However, I have a plywood floor that I would like to carpet.

My question: If I used the light colored carpet that I currently have on hand to carpet the floor of the spearhouse, will that defeat the purpose of the black walls and ceiling?

I wouldn't worry about it.

I am sure you are not going to take your boots off at the door so the carpet will be dark after a few uses anyway!! lol

I do recommend carpet though just because it deadens the sound so well.

Thanks for the quick reply. I wonder if I could call 800-588-2300 and get Empire Carpets to vist my 4'x8' home and show me samples. Maybe even same day installation, on ice.

you will be fine. The dark walls will take care of the darkness for you

Just don't tack it down to the floor, if your like the rest of us you'll want to take it out to dry once and awhile.

welcome to spearing and no worrys with the carpet color the first year that I used my perm house I didnt have the walls or ceiling painted black and I speared lots of pike.

Go with 3" shag in a burnt orange or dark green

see i put carpet in my house, and its down on the floor and not coming out unless i rip it out. I put staples down so its down, but if i wanta take it out, its just pull and she will come.
