Moving to New Mexico

So, I've lived in Missouri most of my life, most of my relatives live in Minnesota, where I have done most of my fishing the last few years. Now I may be getting a job in the 4 corners area. Years ago (like 40!) we spent a vacation at Lake Vallecito near Durango, and I recall the fishing to be OK. So, am I gonna have to learn fly fishing? Or, just learn how to ice fish this winter on the reservoirs?

Cant help you on the fishing but you sure are going to be in some beautiful country. We elk hunt in Colorado in the four corners area out of Mancos.

Yeah, I may have to buy a rifle and learn how to elk hunt. Only place I've been where the elk crossing signs outnumber the deer crossing signs on the highways!

i lived i new mexico during late 80's until 1992. did a lot of trout fishing. we just fished from shore with a salmon egg and did ok. your avitar mentioned battle lake. i grew up in henning. maybe we hve crossed paths before
