Well Pump Cable

is seems that I end up replacing my every fews years, the last one was galvaized (think the spelling is right) aircraft cable still went bad. thought of using a rope but did not think it would hold up either. any other country folks that have a well, what do you use for pulling your pump up?

Also could not remember where I bought the the last cable here in the twin ports, anyone know who might sell it up here. phone book was worthless. thanks

How deep is the well? At our shack we use chain and attach it to the pump. It's a light duty chain and it seems to work pretty good.
