Pontoon question

I have a buddy that just bought a 10 year old pontoon boat, and the insurance company is asking him what the max horsepower that can be on the boat. I told him to look at the boat's nameplate that should specify the max HP, number of people, weight limit, etc. He said there isn't one. So I took a look at the boat...all over...and we both can't find a nameplate. Any idea on how to find out where the nameplate is and maybe just how to look up the max HP? For specifics, he said it's a '97 or '98 Grumman 24' Fun Ship.

Any thoughts or recommendations?

I'd contact Grunman directly as I'm sure they have that information on hand for regulatory purposes.

or contact the dealer that sells them new, and you should be able to figure it out. Also, make sure that the owner gets a plate for it as well, as needed in the boat.
