stick
I have a buddy that just bought a 10 year old pontoon boat, and the insurance company is asking him what the max horsepower that can be on the boat. I told him to look at the boat's nameplate that should specify the max HP, number of people, weight limit, etc. He said there isn't one. So I took a look at the boat...all over...and we both can't find a nameplate. Any idea on how to find out where the nameplate is and maybe just how to look up the max HP? For specifics, he said it's a '97 or '98 Grumman 24' Fun Ship. Any thoughts or recommendations?
marine_man
I'd contact Grunman directly as I'm sure they have that information on hand for regulatory purposes.marine_man
bassNspear
or contact the dealer that sells them new, and you should be able to figure it out. Also, make sure that the owner gets a plate for it as well, as needed in the boat.
