Camping in the Duluth area

I am looking for a camp ground near Duluth on a nice lake to do some fishing and boating. In the past we have stayed at Knife River Campground but we want to stay some where new, something that is a little inland and closer to Duluth. It would be tent camping. Any help would be great. Thanks

it's nothing to crazy but there is a small campground on Island lake. It's across the street from the Island Lake Inn (restraunt/bar). Like I said, it isn't much but the fishing and boating is great on Island. Just a thought. Otherwise, there is also the whiteface chain too.

There are campgrounds on Sullivan, Indian and Wolf lakes, as well as a forest campground right up Highway 1 near Isabella, which is near Lax and Ninemile lakes. These are all reasonably close to Duluth. Google "Camping in Minnesota" and you should find state and forest campgrounds.
