I thought I knew but I proved myself wrong, I am so confused.

My guess would be a female purple finch.

Call me crazy but I am going to go with the female Rose-Breasted Grosebeak.

The photo doesn't give a good perspective to the size but it looks a little chunkier than a finch.

Crazy? Nah.

But the female RBG and purple finch have more than just the difference in size to separate them.

The grosbeak's bill is noticeably larger proportionally to its head than the finch's, and the RGB head streaking is generally quite a bit more contrasty.

Also, the RBG doesn't go where there is snow. Aside from a freak Sept. snowstorm while migrating south, they only nest in Minnesota, heading south as soon as fall hits.
