I thought I would let everyone know that next weekend is REI's Paddlefest.

On June 7th from 10am-2pm they will have all of their boats and many more from vendors available for handling and paddling on the water. Canoes and kayaks will be available.

The event is on Schulze Lake in Lebanon Hills Park in Eagan.

If you're thinking about buying a new boat or if you'd like to compare a few different watercraft this is the best opportunity. Its completely open and the staff is awesome at answering your questions.

If you're going, plan to bring something to practice how you would use the boat. Sometimes they ahve some packs, but if you plan on using the boat for tripping you might want to bring a full backpack to try paddling the boat with some extra ballast in it.
