Christopher Quast
Just seeing where evryone tends to be finding the bigger crappies at lately and does it seem to vary alot from say afternoon to dark and if so how much?
CycloneFisherman
It seems to be a mixed bag right now. Depending on the area of the lake I have caught them in 7 feet of water and hovering over 18 feet of water.
Thunder
Not sure on the crappies, but the small lake I fish the females are just go through spawn, and the big males are coming in the shallows. I did pretty well on some nice sunnies Saturday in about 2-3 fow. For a stretch my bobber would go down as soon as it hit the water. No bulls, but just some nice sized fish for the pan. YUM! Caught some nice plump females full of eggs, but all those went back in the water. As for the lake, well I can't divulge...but it's a smaller lake with not much fishing pressure or oating activity, so not sure if that makes a difference. Gary Crichton
The crappies we caught on Saturday were in 11-15 ft suspended. So were the walleyes only not suspended.
Matt Johnson
We've done the best for crappies in the 5-12 foot range. Seems like that first break is holding the larger fish. A lot of fish in the shallows too, but they have been generally smaller...
Tom7227
Last night they were right on the surface and were readily biting the flies we were casting. Lot of fun with a fly rod. Not much size but probably 20-30 fish 2 guys 2 hours.
