Red Lake questions

OK, everyone has been talking about the slabs out of Red Lake for the last 3 or 4 years. I've never made it up there yet so I have a few questions;

Are they still as big as they claim?

I know we can only access the lake in a certain area. Are the reservation people allowing non-member access to other parts of the lake for a fee?

If I go and pay a road fee to a resorter do I just follow the crowd (don't like to be too close to others as to disturb their fishing) or just punch a bunch of holes looking for a correct depth?

Is there a morning and evening "magic time"?

How deep?

Finally; any bait ideas?
