Sergeant Slabber
I'm not sure if this is a red or a crimson maple, thinking it's a crimson, anyways I trimmed a bunch of branches earlier this spring but now I notice a couple of more branches that I would like to remove. Is it okay to do it now with the leaves in full swing, or should I wait till fall to do it? Thanks!
Powerstroke
Maples are more than fine to trim year round. The general rule for trimming is not more than 30% a year, even less if its a smaller tree. As long as they are not huge branches you will be fine. If it can wait, the best time is of course during the dormant season, but maples are fine to trim now.
