Looking for a Coonhound

My parents have a coonhound (redbone) named "Gus". He's a great dog, only because they have put ALOT of time in him. He hunts good and quite obedient. To answer your question in my parents case, yes the hound howls all day. He'll look out the window all day long, looking for squirrels, and when he spots one -- BAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUL until the squirrel is gone. You can hear him a mile away. Not kidding. You just get used to it. It's a different bark than a yapper. My parents got theirs on a trip to Missouri for 100$ and he's registered. I'd say if you've got good neighbors go for it. A hound can be alot of fun.
