My poor dog

One hot July day, many years ago I was traveling between Bemidji and Duluth on highway 2. Springer Spaniel in the back seat of the 2 door plymouth. Had the back window open just a little so the dog could get some cool air. I was sure she couldn't fit out the hole. As you might guess, I pulled out to pass a car and was fully in the other lane when I hear this thump. I look in the mirror to see my dog sliding down the black top on her feet. shocked.gif Behind her is an 18 wheeler. He has his brakes locked up and the smoke is rolling off his tires. The dog slides almost to a stop and runs in to the ditch and sits there and waits for me to come back. I had pulled over on the wrong side of the road. I backed up after the traffic had cleared a little and I received an obscene gesture from the truck driver, got out and ran to check the condition of the dog. Suprisingly, she had some scrapes on her stomach, not much for pads left, and a terrible case of road rash on her hind end. I picked her up and put her in the back seat of the car, this time with the windows closed. It was then that I realized she had messed herself and I had stuck my hand in it. I was elated that nothing serious happened to the dog or to the truck driver or anyone else. Sure could have been a mess!!!!
