Cooter
Any comments on either size Chubby? I've never even laid eyes on one but I do like slow crawling lures like the Hawg Wobbler.
Scott M
I've got the 8" in Red Head/Purple Scale. It's a lot of fun fishing it, I'll say that much. Haven't raised a fish with it yet, but haven't used it much either.I have all the perverted lures: Tallywhacker, Papa Chubby, "The Screamer" bucktail, etc.
Cooter
What kind of sound does she have out of the box? How fast can you work it?
Scott M
Very bubbly. You can't burn the thing. It's pretty slow. Not creeper slow, but a step up. She swings pretty wide at the joint and that blade only cuts up the water and makes bubbles if its slow. The faceplate is huge, so it moves a lot of water and really splashes and gurgles.Pretty good out of the box sound. I didn't tweak anything, just swapped out some bigger hooks and sharpened them up. I personally have the wrong color for dusk or night fishing, but the sound alone is pretty cool so I've thrown it at that time. Lots of loud gargles and plopping.Hope that helps. PerchJerker
The Papa Chubby is the favorite bait of the guy I muskie fish with the most. He's caught skis on it off several lakes, it's a confidence bait for him now.
