Spazzums08
Hey guys, has anyone had experience with these reels? I'm looking to use it for catfishing, so I need a good drag. Any comments?

Spazzums08
That's the one I'm looking at, but I'd like some reports/comments on it first, since I don't want to lose a 45 lb flathead because of a bad drag system.
Flaco651
It sounds like your looking into spinning reels for catfishing correct? I would recommend the Okuma Epixor or the Cabelas Salt Striker. Not saying the Daiwa won't work, but the other 2 have a bait feeder system that would be nice if targeting flats. If your not set on a spinning reel, there is a lot of good baicaster options out there too. There are multiple models by Abu Garcia, Penn, Shimano and more that are used by Cat guys. slipperybob
That particular Diawa Theory seems to be an improvement from my old Diawa Regal Z. However when looking at some of the other improved current Regal faimily of spinning reels, it makes the price point of $50 expensive for a clearanced model. It would be a great improvement over a big Shakespeare Alph XT reel. I think it was $15 or $20 on clearance.'Baitrunner' or 'baitfeeder' feature is pretty nifty, as it does about what baitcasters do - well sorta. Okuma and Penn offers some good entry types very well price point starts $50+. I remember some other Shimano freshwater spinning reels feature a 'fighting drags system' could've been an Abu Garcia but I forget which. It's a little more advance as a fast way to loosens the drag from setting to any varible to minimal.
DTro
For a good value/quality spinning "bait feeder" reel. It is tough to beat the Cabelas Salt Striker reel.
