Myrt
Same problem with my 03' 75 tiller. I took it to a fabricator, the inventor of the happy hooker trailering device , and he took a 1" thick piece of commercial plastic cutting board, bent it with heat in the middle so it curved up, drilled a hole thru the bottom side lengthwise, ran a long skinny bolt for a latch pin to secure it thru the holes you can adjust your motor height with, put a v-cut on the other end to rest the motor shaft in. Hold the piece up, lower the motor down onto it, trailers straight and great.
Big Walleye 58
I don't suppose you have a photo ?? Also do you run a transom saver and if so do the two interfere with each other ?

Big Walleye 58
Looks quite ingenious . That keeps the motor straight without turning to the side ? I just may have to give that a try . Thanks for sharing looks like a good idea.
PDOGG
I run a Merc 115 tiller and rarely have this problem I also have a friend with a 75 merc tiller he hasn't had any problems with this either we both use transom savers. Merc's design is a little differant as they us rods for steering guides and there is a hand wheel that you tighten to increase the steering friction.
