Cooter
I've brought this up before but want to refresh it so to speak. So for vertical presentations, slip bobbers in particular, are cirlces a good option to reduce snagging while maintaining hookup percentages? Thanks, later. slick814
I rarely use anything but circle hooks in the situations you describe. And unless you're fishing a woody area, I believe that it's the weights that more often than not get hung up. But I do think that the circle hooks have kept me from hooking up the logs more often than a straight shanked hook ever did. The only thing I think is close is the old Kahle, which is basically a circle hook in the first place. One thing I've tried the past couple of years and had success with, both catching fish and also not getting snagged with is a drop shot rig. If the weight gets hung up, you can give the line a tug, lose the weight, reel up the hook and tie a new weight on. WOrks great for still fishing too... evinrude19
i think i am gonna try some circle hooks for wacky style senkos for bass fishing and i tend to use them on my lindy rigs that i make for minnows and leeches
slipperybob
A curved point reduces fouling up but anything that fits into the gap between point and shank gets hung. That's where standard jigs excel at, it prevents things from getting in between the point and the shank.
