Johnson 115 hp 4 stroke

A friend is looking at a used boat with a 2005 johnson 115 Fuel injected 4 stroke.

Does anyone know if they used Suzuki powerheads in their 4 strokes or do they make their own?

I know another guy that has a johnson 90 hp 4 stroke and it is a very fine motor and I was thinking it had a suzuki power head. Hoping this one is just as smooth and quiet.

I have a 2005 Johnson 140 4 stroke and know it is the same engine as the Suzuki.

Johnson / Evinrude never made their own 4 stroke in the higher HP's... so yes, it should be a Suzuki...

It's a Suzuki. The only appreciable difference is that the Johnson 115/140 uses Johnson/Evinrude controls. It's also cheaper to get parts at a Suzuki dealer.

And it is a great motor.
