Guest
Because that was my dream this year!I fished a small lake near Hudson, WI yesterday(30 minutes away-that's metro, right?) 3.5" inches of ice-right about my comfort level. Although by about noon, there was plenty of water on the top, and I was feeling like I should have left about an hour earlier.I stayed pretty close to shore, and caught a bunch of small perch and a crappie. Put out a tipup for pike, but nothing happening there. The warm weather this week is going to chase me off for a while, but it felt really good to be looking at that dark circle and listening to the Vex whirl again!I saw a Clam out in the middle of that small lake just south of 94 east of St Paul, I think it's called Battle Creek lake? There is another bigger lake just north, Tanner's?Was that anyone here?
Guest
I drive by these 2 lakes every day. Battle Creek is really shallow so it freezes quickly...dont know what you would catch out there besides some bluegill or small pike, tanners is 90% open. Dynasty
Yea Battle Creek freezes fast but their is a new aerator so you should be careful if you go out on it.Last year me and a friend were out on Battle Creek pretty earlie in the season and we were on the news. They were doing a story about dangerous ice (even though their was 3-4" of ice).
