Vexilar Alumaducer??

Who out there has used these transducers that read through the hull, and how well do they work? I have an old 14 foot Lund that I want to put my Vex on and am looking at options for transducers. Thought about making my ice ducer work on it (which would obviously be the cheapest route), but if these alumaducers work well it sure would make things easy.

vex makes one that you can attach to either trolling unit or to the back of your boat. you can get them at fleet farm.

just put petroleum jelly on the ducer and put it on the hull, it'll shoot right through. do it all the time.
