Will
i posted this question in the lake winnebago section, but nobody has responded, so i'll try it here.i am going chase walleyes on the fox river (winnebago) for the first time, the weekend of april 12th. has anybody fished there before? i am looking for any tips and pointers.when i fish the miss or the croix, a jig and minnow usually does the trick. just wondering if i should expect anything different. uwleagle
I lived in DePere so I fished the Fox River by the DePere dam a ton. Did most of my fishing from shore. I'm assuming that the fishing is similar to the Fox River down by lake winnebago. It'll be basically the same as fishing the miss or croix. I caught most of my fish with a jig head and a minnow, also sometimes its helped to have a twister tail on. Their was sometimes when you had to have a stinger hook as well. I think you will be fine with your jig and a minnow. Also if I were you I would not go to the Fox River by Lake Winnebago, you will probably catch more and bigger fish if you go on the Fox by the DePere dam.
