LwnmwnMan2 Posted March 27, 2008 Share Posted March 27, 2008 Also, hold off on the pre emergent for this year.Most products are going to recommend at least 3 mowings before you use any pre emergent.I realize it's a project from last year and you should be okay, but....Also, if it was a true renovation, meaning tear out and bringing new soil in, then you're probably not going to have to worry about a crabgrass problem right away this spring anyways.\And as Tom said, hold off. Nothing you do this early is going to make a difference, it'll just be runoff. Also, technically, you cannot use the starter fertilizer legally now that it's a quasi established lawn.
