Well thanks for recommending me to NAVHDA, I just checked out their HSOforum and volunteered to help out out at the show Aug. 28-31st. I cant wait to check it out, and never knew it existed, thanks to everyone on here I will get a very good look at all the breeds and pick one that I want for a hunting partner, might be tough to get me off the GSP though!!

If you know you want a GSP, then that is what you should get. NAVDHA will still be a good resource for finding a GSP breeder / litter. NAVHDA is also a great resource for training and get experienced trainers to assist you.

This is about one of the smartest things I have seen written in a long time. Ask to see the parents hunt! Take a couple of chuckars with you when you go to pick out the pup. Have the bird get the pups attention and see how it reacts. If it could just as soon chase it's tail then kill that bird you know it's not going to be a good dog wether it's parents have a laundry list of titles or not. Good luck with the GSP.
