Trolling Motor Mounting

I see where everyone mounts their bow trolling motor on the left side of the bow (on left while in the boat) and was wondering if that is for a reason? I want to mount mine to the right because it will leave me more room to fish on the left while the trolling motor is up and I'm anchored. Is there any real reason for left mounting and did anyone mount theirs to the right?

It will work either way. Preference and boat lay out. If you have a electric plug in on the left like most boats you may want to mount it there.

Also in a single counsel I like the prop wash while running to hit my windshield not the passenger in the face.

Agree, I've seen it both ways and have had it both ways. The point Steve made about where the electric plug on the boat is located is a great point.

One more thing to watch out for. Watch how you mount it so that it runs down the side on top,not over the side so it might hit something when docking.

Not everyone. Mine is on the right. The shaft goes along the left gunwale when stowed.

same here...I put mine on the right on the small boat, now on the left (pre-wired plug) on my bigger boat.
