Gatores
My daughters car is in need of a waterpump. It has the 3.1 motor. Is it a big job to replace it or if you are handy can a average guy do it. Thank you so much in advance for any insight you can give.Rick
0 Macgyver55
Its a very simple pump to change! If I remember correctly, 4 bolts on the pulley and 5 on the pump. No special tools needed.

0 Jeremy airjer W
Make sure you keep track of the position of the water pump before you pull it off. There should be a notch on the housing of the old one as well as the new one. This notch helps align the water pump so that all the bolt holes line up. If it is not aligned correctly the bolts won't fit. You will see what I am talking about when you put the gasket on the new pump. You will likely rotate it several times and/or flip it over to get the holes lined up.
