Sturge1
Need your help regarding ice creepers. I have some old ones which are getting pretty tired, they are the scissor style that strap on the toe and instep. I believe the brand name is also Ice Creepers. They have served me well and with all the different types out I am wondering if any of you have switched and are happy with the new ones. Your comments will be welcomed. I did look for the post on this subject but could not locate it. ThanksSturge
Guest
Are they for boots you would only use for ice-fishing or winter hunting? If so, check out my tip on this FM.com thread form a past ice season. A cheap answer that does work very well.http://fishingminnesota.com/ubb/Forum9/HTML/001104.htmlEd CarlsonBackwater Guiding"ED on the RED"[email protected]701-281-2300><,sUMo,>[This message has been edited by Backwater Eddy (edited 11-08-2003).]
Steve Foss
Cheapest option is the Polar HT rubber slip-ons with rows of triangular cleats embedded in the rubber. They don't work well in more than a couple inches of snow because the cleats are shallow, but it there's that much snow you don't need the cleats anyway. They work great on glare ice or ice with up to an inch of snow.I've had them three years and they're still going strong. They were $6.99.------------------"Worry less, fish more."Steve Foss[email protected]
