Steve Foss
Well, various things have kept me from doing a lot of photography out in the woods this winter, so I took a bit of time today to capture a few frames of deer at a nearby feeder. Definitely looking a little ratty, I'd say.
Dbl
I got to tell yah they look as bored with winter as most of us are. Love that third shot.
Steve Foss
Yeah, I hear you. If it wasn't for the last few weeks of lake trout season, I'd already wish it was late April. I worked pretty hard in Photoshop CS2 on the third image. Did some work in shadows/highlights, including lassoing the eyes and working on them individually to bring up exposure and show more detail, then lassoed the whole deer and sharpened it independently from the background, then selected inverse and ran noise ninja and a bit of gaussian blur on the BG. These types of things have become my routine in CS2 for many subjects, but it's easy to tell the deer aren't the only ones bored today.
