Stone Hearth

Don't use Thompson's Waterseal. That stuff leaves behind an oily surface that will quickly attract dirt and you will have a mess. Find a stone/brick material supplier ( Brock White is one )and they will have specailized products for sealing stone. One is called Stone Glamour. These will leave a dry surface that will help keep dirt from penetrating the stone.

Good Luck.
