Lab & Ranger guy
This is my first post but, I have spent alot of time on this site. Anyway to my point I just returned to MN from a hunt in CO with Jeff Foiles. I spent four days in CO hunting geese, two of the days with Jeff and I must say that he is one of the best big name people that I have hunted/fished with. I have read some of the negative stuff on the net about him and after spending hours/days with the man and his crew, I must say he/they are top shelf, down to earth people and I will be doing it again next year. Just one example, one evening while we were eating out a young man came up to the table and stated that he was having a problem with one of his calls, Jeff finished eating and then returned to the hotel and I watched him take the time to replace the guts and reed in the call and then hand tuned it for the young man and NO he did not take any money for doing it. A great time was had by all and boy can he call and put the geese right in your face. Just wanted to share my thoughts
Scott M
Well that's good to hear, thanks for sharing Lab & Ranger guy. I'd like to meet him, maybe this year at Game Fair.Too many times you hear a guy is bad and never give him a first chance. Guilty until proven innocent I guess. Lab & Ranger guy
The man draws a large group of people at most stops and he takes the time to talk to people, person to person. But you can not miss his truck either...LOL
Lab & Ranger guy
If anyone is thinking about going out to CO you may also want to take a look at NE. On I80 near Hershey (sp)NE we ran into alot of birds all the way into CO. The CO season ends in mid Feb as does NE. We also found alot of land owners that let us hunt.... IceHawk
I have talked to Jeff a few times and from my personal experiance he always seemed like a true good hearted person.I think some of the negatvity some of these big sportsman get is from jealousy! Granted everyone has skeletons in there closet and no-one is perfect, but I can bet there isn't a one of us every once and a while that didn't wish we could make a liveing doing what they do.Lab and Ranger guy- Sounds like a fun hunt glad it was a positive experiance. I have been kicking the idea around of ventureing to Arkansas next year and doing a flooded timber huint.
Flick
Tell him to stop shooting hens.
Abrams
I've talked with Jeff a few times, in person he is a decent guy. I dislike the way he conducts his business. His videos are terrible: shooting dead birds many times, shooting birds at 5 feet, killing hens, laughing about the previously mentioned. I've also heard he is a [PoorWordUsage] to other call makers. Lab & Ranger guy
I started this post to tell about a very positive experience I had with Jeff Foiles and his crew. I did not intend on starting a debate over the hunts. I had a very enjoyable time, and at no time did any of the things Abrams is talking about occur on any of MY hunts. Abrams
Sorry for changing the flow of the topic. Jeff is a decent guy who loves the sport of waterfowl hunting.
1runhotshot
Facts are most buy those videos to see kills. Folies cannot afford to pass on hens. That is the problem. If nobody bought the videos they would not produce them anymore!! Jeff has a nice operation and product but I HATE the hen killing!!! KUDOS to all that shoot Drakes and Tom Turkeys only! BP2
"Folies cannot afford to pass on hens."That is far from the truth. He's hunting all of these guided areas and they can't put him on a good enough spot to shoot drakes? I'm not a huge fan of his videos but they're not the worst thing out there. He just has an attitude towards people, especially young kids that look up to him. I know from the Game Fair last year that he was yelling at some kids. I don't need to go into the whole story, but that's the kind of stuff that turns people away.
