looking for info on bow hunting

Looking at bow hunting the black hills next year and wondering about license, do non residents have to apply to a lottery or can you buy one over the counter?

i bow hunt west river deer in perkins co. you cant buy tags over the counter but you can order them online thru the sd game & fish. as for the black hills i dont know if that is a lottery. good luck

You can purchase your tag on-line or by mail anytime after they become available, maybe in July? For archery, you can buy either a statewide tag or a west river tag.

I would suggest getting a turkey tag also. Makes a great combo hunt!
