Strikemaster auger problem

Recommended Posts

After buying a new 8" Lazer Mag late last winter, I have been very disapointed. It will not break thru the bottom of the hole cleanly. The blade will either jam up when the point goes thru, or else it will literally pull the auger down into the hole when it goes thru. If I try to pull it back up, the auger will turn backwards. I have tried full throttle, 1/2 throttle. No downward pressure, slight to moderate downward pressure. I have even had other guys try it with the same results. The worst part is that the bait shop I purchased it from went out of business after 30 years. Any ideas??

You're going to hear a bunch of suggestions...and it sounds like you've tried them all. I recommend your New Year's resolution be to get on the phone to Strikemaster tomorrow (Wed) morning and get some tech help.

Don't be afraid...we won't tell your wife that you had to ask for directions. wink.gif

I think I've heard this song before. When the auger blade itself is new it has a sharp edge on it,that's what maybe causing it to "pull"down the hole. The suggestion to call strikemaster is a good one since the auger is new. They are great when it comes to these sort of things.Happy new year and good luck!c63
