"Beaver Chew" pics

took a walk earlier this grey, overcast windy november day.....and came across the handiwork of a few beaver....I'm just amazed at how these things can chomp a tree down so "cleanly"....those teeth are like chisels! ...nice clean cuts ....and the size of the trees amazes me!...some of these popples are 12" and more...then I noticed they cut em in 8' long sections!...AND!...they even know how to drop em facing the lake!...just amazing! ....if only us humans have as much incentive as these little guys ....nature at it's finest!

They are an amazing beast! I've watched them work a few times. I like that last photo - a little different perspective!

thanks all!....just wish the beaver would have been accomodating and been in the pics ....no doubt sitting in his house and letting his jaw muscles rest till spring......
