Jeff Dosch
The smaller lakes have frozen and it wont be long before some of the smaller bays on the main lake will freeze. The forecast is calling for lows around zero or maybe even below by Thursday. Creel bay was froze over Wednesday night but reopened thursday morning from the wind. I'm sure there will be a few out pike fishing the smaller lakes by next weekend. Its almost here!Jeff Doschwww.doschguides.com

Jeff Dosch
Devils Lake is still open for now. By the middle of the week the smaller bays and the flats should all be froze. I was 25 miles east over by lakota and saw about 1,000 Canadas and about 2,000 mallards feeding in a corn feild. I would guess by the end of the week they will have a hard time keeping anything open and will move South. You better hurry and get that last hunt in, you dont have much time left.Jeff Doschwww.doschguides.com
mrwalleye_13
There is a really good chance that I was hunting one of those fields or right next to it... we seemed to be the only people hunting last week and we were right by lakota next to a pretty noticable field offa 2.. Drove to devils yesterday morning in search of more and to see the ice situation..the lake we hunted last tuesday had 3-4 inches already by yesterday morning... I think if it gets calm at any time that baby will be freezing up quick after last nights little blizzard
