How to preserve minnows w/ salt???

Hi

I've seen a couple of posts where there has been a refrence made to salted minnows. Can someone tell me how to do this?

Simply put the minnpws in a bag and add canning salt or pickling salt, enough to cover the minnows, shake and seal.
