spudhauler
Does anyone have a recipe for a marinade you inject into a turkey prior to deep frying it. I have done the dry packages that you mix with water from fleet farm and they are pretty good, but I was wondering if there was something better. Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving to all! New Yankee
Plenty of them out there - probably a Ford/Chevy deal, but I've had good luck with this simple one :Melt two sticks of butter and add can of Chicken broth in a sauce pan, with about a half bottle (what are they - about 4 ounces of dry seasoning?) of Emeralds or K-Pauls poultry seasoning. Simmer for a bit and strain out as much of the seasoning that you think the 'nay sayers will will tolerate - I use cheesecloth and leave about a 1/4 of it in the mix. Add cayenne or Tony Cashere's if you want some heat (not required) and inject all you can. Remeber to be really careful on that first dunk - I lower and raise the bird partially until I'm satisfied that it won't boil over on full immersion.
