wigwam

They did a good job of putting us on fish both times we used them in 05. We stayed in the lodge, the beds were terrible! Plastic covered, creeky, lumpy just to start. The food was pretty bad too. We've used Sportman's the last three times up, pretty good times. We are planning a trip through Sportman's on the 9th of Dec.

I would use wigwam again if I knew they had better beds.

Stayed there once, wasn't too bad. It was in early dec. and they had to take us in a school bus to get on the ice, that sucked. We stay at Walleye Retreat, no bar or food but always have good fishing. We usually go over to the wigwam at night nice bar and good food. Good Luck

I can't speak for the fishing but the night life is pretty good at the Wigwam! grin.gif

What you have to know about all the resorts on the Wheeler's Pt/Rainy River area of Lake of the Woods is they all put their permanent houses in pretty much the same area.

Some resorts have nicer houses than other resorts. Some will move you around. And some resorts have options to fish in the river, in the lake, or completely across the lake.

I would definitely look into their lodging and also how the will treat you when you are on the ice. Some resorts drop you off in the morning and pick you up at night. Some resorts check on you throughout the day. Some resorts will do their best to move you if their is better fishing nearby.
