LwnmwnMan2
Instead of paying $1-2 / fiberglass stake at the big box stores, Home Depot / Menards sells little flags like the style used for utility marking. There's 100 for $5-6, so if you've got a couple guys, or 10-12-30 that want to go in for .50 each, you can save yourself a couple bucks. I know this isn't a big deal for those of you living in town with a city lot drive, but those that are outside, with a little bit of a curve and are tired of digging up turf, it's a way to mark a drive, reasonably priced. heavyduty
not to pick but what happens when the plow passes after 6 inches of snow and they get covered up?
hovermn
I'm with Building services at Target and our plow company just uses wood stakes painted orange at the top. Cheap alternative?
LwnmwnMan2
You then have a 6" tall berm of snow marking where the edge is, no longer a need for a marker.Hover - Yes, I've used those in the past, but you're putting effort into cutting the stake and painting, which I realize isn't ALOT of effort, but it's still effort.Plus, in my own application, I can haul 1000 flags in a box that's 10" wide, 2' long, and 6" deep, whereas if I hauled around 1000 wood stakes, or those fiberglass markers, it would be considerably more room.
