Squirrels

How close have you gotten to squirrels? The picture is from 6-8 feet, but later I went out without a camera and sat in a different spot and got within 3-4 feet.

LP, I've been mighty close. Sometimes they're tame as can be. Other times they're wild animals. Nice shot, too.

not tame, when I am not out there and they are actually on the feeders, all I have to do is knock on the window and they leave. Really neat up close.

I have a deck leading to my second story rec room. I go out there a few times a day to have a smoke. I also have a big tree within a few feet of the deck. A few months ago I started buying bags of peanuts and tossing at the squirrels. Now they're spoiled. If I step out there and don't see the squirrel right away, he'll come all the way to the first step from the top and wait for me to set a peanut down at the top. I'm usually within about 3 feet at the time. They're not quite as brave when my dog is up there. Then they stop 2 steps from the top and have a staring match with poochie. I certainly enjoy "my" squirrels.
