Guest
Amyone have a good idea for storing a fish trap in the garage -off the floor? Floorspace in my garage is filled to capacity. I'm thinking about putting it on a deck and hoisting it up with a pulley system. I bought the trap at the ice show a few weeks ago and my car hasn't been in the garage since. Guest
I have done that, up she went, out of the way.Toss in a few moth balls so the tarp gets protected from the critters and you will be back in your garage again.Set it up and alow it to dry well first so mold will not get in the folds while stored.------------------Ed "Backwater Eddy" Carlson..><sUMo>Backwater Guiding"Ed on the RED"(701)-281-2300[email protected]http://ed-carlson.fishingbuddy.com
Captain B.R.K
Got in front of the garage a loft area that is just perfect for the trap. The only thing is you need 2 ladders and another person to help you out throw it up there. But wait, did you say you need space now? Don't tell me you are putting it up so soon? Shame on you
fishbreath
I have a loft in the back of the garage, myself and 1 of my sons and up up and away it up, sad time of the year. What do you like using more your car or your fish trap? The hell with the car, it can handle the weather better then the fish trap. In the garage nobody can see you playing with your trap when you can't go fishing. Buy a truck with a cap.
Guest
Mine gets hoisted to the top of the rafters in the garage. Plenty of room for the wifes car to fit under it.
Thumper
Bought the Voyager modle at same show and thats my plan for off season too. Glad to read it works. Sounds like it is a good idea to have at least one helper.
Guest
The deck & pulleys seem to be the way to go for 1 man load and go.

Guest
I took and hammered two, 2X4's, 2' long at an upward angle off the garage wall, near the top of the wall. Hoist up the plastic, sled end, to hang from the 2X4's, and let the canvas end hang down. All the "bulk space" is taken up by the sled end...up near the ceiling & the canvas end only sticks out 6"-8" near the floor. If 2X4's are angled correctly, sled & canvas hang tight to the wall! It is up out of the way and is off the floor a good 3' or more! Plenty of room for parking!!! Later..... Dugan!!!
eyesandgills
If mice are a problem, rather than moth balls, try Bounce dryer sheets. The smell sure seems to keep them away.
ackotz
Another tip when storing your portables...is to buy some of the silicon tent spray (you can get at Kmart, Wal-mart, Target sporting goods stores). Saturate the fabric with this stuff, it will keep the fabric from drying and cracking when you open it up the next season...
