rockpt
We were up from Oct 5-14 and got 3 - 38, 42 and 46 - in about 10 hours of trolling. All 3 were caught on 10" Jakes trolling the rocky shoreline breaks in 12-20'. Water temp had dropped to low 50s by the time we left, but for some reason the algae was starting to get thick in Miles Bay. The water was clear out west of Rubber. MuskieDowg
Excellent report! Thank you! I'm really hoping the wind stays low to allow us to travel West this year. We usually take off from BV Resort and head East toward Nestor. There's a lot of good fishing that direction but I'd like to try something different. Sounds like you did VERY well on 10 hours of trolling! Hope to have the same luck. Be back on here in a week with my report.
MuskieDowg
OK. So it turns out, as much as I enjoy muskie fishing, I'm not very good at it! I caught one 37" and that's it. We fished for about 10 hours total and put on over 45 miles chasing those *&%$ things around the islands. We trolled and casted every plug and bucktail in the box on some really fishy looking water and couln't get them to hit for some reason. Anyway, I had a blast trying. The one I landed came off a wind blown point south of Boomstick. Good luck to you other muskie hunters this fall!
