I was wondering what is a the best auger out there and woanting to know if a 2hp would work year round or a 3hp for 8" holes.

i have a 2 hp jiffy never fails to start and cuts quick clean hole had it 3 yrs without need of sharpining of the blades

I've use both and loved both. With sharp blades, they are all good. Heck, even a hand auger with good blades will slice the ice.
