Oak leaves: Hey, it's OUR turn!

The maples are done but for a few stubborn stragglers, and the color around Ely now is dominated by golden birch/aspen and tamarack, with the burgeoning red oak population providing the major red colors.

Beautiful colors Steve. I'm up on Rainy Lake this week and the colors are not that nice here.

Shackbash, the yellow one is a birch, and the red ones are oaks. I guess they call them northern RED oak for a reason.
