Loggy Bayou Monarch

Does anybody here use a Loggy Bayou Monarch stand? I'm looking for a good light weight stand that I can pack in to inaccessible areas, but that are comfortable for all day hunting. I hunted out of my buddies Lone Wolf and liked it, but the seat had a little to be desired. I found this one on line at Cabelas and it is even lighter than the Lone Wolf, has a bigger platform and they claim it is an 'all day seat'. Plus it's less money.... grin.gif

Looking for a real world - honest assessment.

Thanks!

Good Luck!

I too have the monarch, very light weight and very comfortable seat. The stand is a little noisy when trying to hang it but I made a hook similar to what the lonewolf stands use for hanging. I put the hook arond the tree and then put the stand on the hook, seems to work good. The seat does take up a good part of the platform but with the footrest you cold sit all day.

Thanks! Is it quiet once it's mounted to the tree? I had an older aluminum stand and it was real squeeky the colder it got... That Lone Wolf I hunted out of was VERY quiet... I just think I will like a more comfy stand...

Good Luck!

I have a Millenium M-100 stand, and it's easy to hang with the Cam system, and super comfortable. It feels like you're sitting in a really nice lawn chair.

I just bought the same stand....I have not yet had a chance to use it...but when I do...I will post a report. From all the research I did on the web...it sounds like a pretty good stand. I am interested in seeing how much I like or dislike the seat. I sit all day...so I am looking for something comfy...

Thanks again ACT!

Cliffy, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on the seat. I am holding off for 2 more weeks, but will be buying a new stand before the rut takes off.

Good Luck!

Well, here are my two cents so far.

I got the Loggy Bayou Monarch Pro staff about a week ago...I have not had the chance to use it hunting but I have played around with it.

It came with really poor directions but did have a DVD that I assume had better directions...but the DVD would not play on my DVD player or Computer....so I just had to figure it out myself by using common sense and looking at pics on-line. It was not too hard but still thought it should come with better directions or a working DVD.

My first impression was the fact it was very light....10lbs. The seat is big and seemed like it was pretty well made. The straps were basic...but just fine.

I took it out and put it up in a tree and it went pretty well. The strap that goes behind the seat worked really well....the one that goes down by the base was more of a pain in the butt. You see, the seat strap goes into a couple of D-rings and the strap has a latch that wont allow it to fall out. The base strap is just plain and goes into a couple of holes...so if your not holding on to it as you are trying to swing the strap around the tree...it could fall out to the ground. See pics.

I sat in the seat and IT WAS VERY COMFORTABLE!! Two thumbs up. I found the stand to be rock solid and I didn’t detect any noise when I stood up or adjusted my sitting position. Over all I am satisfied with it and cant wait to break it in at Camp Ripley.

Cliffy.
