i have a 2003 yamaha beartracker 250 and if i give it gas, slow down, then give it gas again there is a pretty loud clunk. i just started to notice it recently. any ideas?

That can be many things. Is it chain driven?

no, its shaft. i talked to my brother who had a similar wheeler and he said his did it too and that it is normal.
