Throttle and Shifting Control

I am looking into converting my 6.0 hp johnson kicker from a tiller to having throttle control and shifting control at the console. Anyone do this, and if so what kind of cost is there? Also any websites that are good for finding parts to do this? I have looked into troll master, looks nice but if I can convert for a low enough cost it would be worth it to have shifting control also.

Thanks

A lot of it depends on how old the motor is. If it's a relatively old motor (80 - early 90's) the cost shouldn't be too bad because you should be able to find some places that have the parts used and you can cobble together. Check places like Valv (a FM Prostaff on here) or Twin City outboard to see what they have that you can use - I'd guess by the time you put together a control box and some cables that are used you're talking $100 maybe???

If it's relatively new and you'll have to order most of the parts I'd guess closer to $150 - 200.

Good luck!
