LaVoi
Wow, I have never seen a single lure sweep across the entire fishing community as has the angel eye. However, I have never used one before, but my curiousity has reached its peak and I plan on buying some from here on the HSOforum. But I was wondering if you guys could answer a few questions so I will get what fits me right. The majority of my fishing is done for lunker pike. I have had great success catching 5-14lb. pike on simple quick strike rigs tipped with suckers or even just a plain hook/minnow. Have you guys had great success on the pike as well with the angel eye. I also love to get set up for the eyes when the sun is setting, and I know that is the angel eyes claim to fame. Being I am fishing both the big pike and walleye, would you guys reccommend the regulars or the juniors. Also what colors have worked best for you, both pike and walleye, I will be fishing a relatively clear lake. By the way Rick, are you guys pretty backed up on them, or do think there is any chance of getting them by weeks end if I was to order today. Thanks, LaVoi
Scenic
LaVoi,A few guys have been using the Angel Eye Minnows on tip ups and have also been jigging them aggressively for pike. For Walleye a less agressive jigging motion is necessary. If I had to make a choice of a color I would say the Hammered Gold Angel Eye Minnow would be my favorite for Pike. For walleye I would stick with the Glow/Pink.Both these colors come on the assorted Angel Eye Minnow kit. Give them a call at (866) 523-0980 to place your order. Not sure where you are located but they will be able to tell you how long your order should take to arrive.Jeff Scenic Tackle
LaVoi
Thanks for the info Jeff. I go to school in St.Cloud, but do you think it would be faster to have it shipped to my home address in Mahnomen, cause I will be home this weekend anyway. bturck
Lavoi: I have not used the Angel Eyes on Pike, but can tell you that they definitley catch walleye and Sauger. I got mine late last year and had good success with them on LOW and Mille Lacs. On LOW the hammered gold and pink/white both worked well. I purchased the jrs. Scott Steil who posts here any awful lot and knows his lures gave them a major endorsement. I can't say enough about them. I just purchased the glows in 1/8 oz and man do they glow. Can't wait to give those a shot as well. Hope this helps. Good luck bill Turck St Cloud
