Skeets
I really wonder how hard it would be to saw thru a foot to two foot of ice later in the season? I would assume you would still have to auger a hole for a starting point...Anybody ever try it?Or are we still waiting for more ice?
Fish Toys
BigfootThank you for the compliment! I sell lots of the Icesaws from this site and it is peculiar that more people don’t post on here to inform the other fishingmn family members that the Icesaw is a very useful tool. On thin ice it is 5’ to 6’ ahead of you in the position for chipping ice as you are walking. If it goes through in one chip you better start backtracking being the ice is too THIN & NOT SAFE! Like the ad says you can cut an angling hole or a spearing hole. Chip through the ice and start cutting any shape or size hole you want. If you do put your ice block on top of the ice break it up. When you push the block underneath give it a good push. SKEETSYes as the ice gets thicker it does get to be more work even with an auger. I would say that up to 15” of ice there is no problem. Like every thing else when chipping you have ice chip problems in the hole you are chipping in but clean them out and chip some more. For the people that spear they do auger the corners out and cut between them on the thicker ice. We did an advertising tape awhile back and we chipped through 10” of ice and cut a 2’x4’ hole and put the iceblock on top of the ice for measuring in a tad over 2 minutes. Unfortunately my best tape got ruined some way.Every tool has its place and time to use it!Be safe and have fun on the ice. Guest
I just bought another toy, that the wifey said I did'nt need. Boy was she wrong.I bought one of them ICE SAWS. It works just like it is advertized. Cuts through ice with no effort at all. Just chop a hole with it, and push and pull it,and it does all the work. One word says it all, AWESOME!!!!I dont know how I got along all these years with out one. Thanks goes out to the maker of this great TOOL (not toy).It used to take me probably 1/2 to 3/4 of a hour to cut a spear hole, now it only takes a few min. More time to fish.Note to spearers, push your blocks of ice under the ice, that way it wont wreck somebodys truck, sled or atv,or hurt somebody. One more thing, always mark your holes with a limb or dead tree,so somebody does not fall into one like I have done. It ruins your day, to fall into a spear hole when its dark, and you are not expecting to go swimming.
